Destination: Qasr Al Sarab, Abu Dhabi

I was really in desperate need of some time off for a couple of days; Qasr Al Sarab seemed like a perfect retreat! The resort is secluded in the midst of the legendary Liwa Desert on the outskirts of the Empty Quarter (Rub’ Al Khali), one of the largest sand deserts of the world.

Qasr Al Sarab resort is located 180km from Abu Dhabi International Airport, car transportation with chauffeur can be arranged by the resort, they are in collaboration with GERMAN RENT A CAR, one of the most luxurious car rental companies. I’ve had concerns about the long drive to the resort, thankfully the car was an Audi A8 with plenty of passenger leg room so I didn’t have to worry about leg cramps! The road trip was two hours long but it was definitely worth it.

A very welcoming and homely atmosphere awaits you from the moment you step into the Resort, the place looks fabulous on the outside and even more so on the inside.

Checking-in was a breeze, we were promptly seated in the lobby and served coffee, dates followed by fresh Roselle juice and wet hand towels, soon after our personal butler approached us with a pleasant smile and welcomed us to the hotel; she took us for a ride on a Buggy and gave us a short tour to familiarize with the different areas of the resort and then we headed to our private Villa.

Villas are located in a separate area from the main resort

…and here we are, we finally arrived!

The Villa is equipped with facilities to ensure your comfort and convenience; it has a DVD player, media box, a work station with free Wi-Fi, and it also has a small Kitchenette with a Nespresso coffee machine.

…here are photos of the outdoor area of the Villa…

It was the cool season at the resort, the average weather temperature during day time was 23-25°C and at night it went below 18° with very refreshing cool wind which was perfect for short walks around the resort.

The breakfast was very fresh and delicious…

The In-Room Dining menu is filled with delectable selections! You can enjoy a delicious meal at the privacy of your villa where you have an in-door dining table or you could go for the outdoor dining table  in the pool area enjoying the weather, view as well as your meal.

Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort also have four different restaurants, Al Waha, Suhail, Ghadeer & Al Liwan providing  you an endless choice of the world’s best cuisines.

The Resort offers a range of activities such as Archery, Biking, Camel Trekking & Desert Walks…

All in all it was an exquisite and most enjoyable experience. I look forward to revisiting and further explore the resort, I really miss the place already!
