I love snow! And I love how it turns me into a little kid bursting with excitement and eagerness to play with it…
“Bloudan (Arabic: بلودان) is a Syrian town located 51 kilometers north-west of the Damascus Governorate, in the Rif Dimashq Governorate and has an altitude of about 1500 meters. Bloudan is situated on top of a hill that overlooks the Zabadani plain and is surrounded by mountain forests.
Its moderate temperature and low humidity in summer attracts many visitors from Damascus and throughout Syria. It is also a major touristic destination, it is visited by thousands every year, mainly Arabs from Lebanon and the Arab Gulf. In winter, Bloudan is usually snowy, and as a result receives many skiers.”

“Don’t let time slip through your fingers, life is only as long as you make it to be and if you grab hold of life and take control you can do anything you want to, don’t give up, never look back and be yourself no matter what people say. You are you and that’s the one thing no body can take away, be all that you can be… And you can be everything.”
– Mike D. “Shadow”.

I was really in desperate need of some time off for a couple of days; Qasr Al Sarab seemed like a perfect retreat! The resort is secluded in the midst of the legendary Liwa Desert on the outskirts of the Empty Quarter (Rub’ Al Khali), one of the largest sand deserts of the world.
Qasr Al Sarab resort is located 180km from Abu Dhabi International Airport, car transportation with chauffeur can be arranged by the resort, they are in collaboration with GERMAN RENT A CAR, one of the most luxurious car rental companies. I’ve had concerns about the long drive to the resort, thankfully the car was an Audi A8 with plenty of passenger leg room so I didn’t have to worry about leg cramps! The road trip was two hours long but it was definitely worth it.

Going to Makkah to perform Umrah is a very spiritual experience, I didn’t realize how much I missed this holy place until I entered the Haram and set my eyes on the Holy Kaaba... I got this overwhelming feeling which I cannot describe or express in words.
Performing the rituals of Umrah was almost effortless, the cool weather was a major factor of course.

“A child can attract anyone’s attention; even the most cold-hearted person will have some feelings towards a child, unless the person is a demonic monster. This attraction is due to the innocence of the child. When you are free from the grip of the ego, you, yourself, will become as innocent and playful as a child.” ~Amma
