I was really in desperate need of some time off for a couple of days; Qasr Al Sarab seemed like a perfect retreat! The resort is secluded in the midst of the legendary Liwa Desert on the outskirts of the Empty Quarter (Rub’ Al Khali), one of the largest sand deserts of the world.
Qasr Al Sarab resort is located 180km from Abu Dhabi International Airport, car transportation with chauffeur can be arranged by the resort, they are in collaboration with GERMAN RENT A CAR, one of the most luxurious car rental companies. I’ve had concerns about the long drive to the resort, thankfully the car was an Audi A8 with plenty of passenger leg room so I didn’t have to worry about leg cramps! The road trip was two hours long but it was definitely worth it.

Going to Makkah to perform Umrah is a very spiritual experience, I didn’t realize how much I missed this holy place until I entered the Haram and set my eyes on the Holy Kaaba... I got this overwhelming feeling which I cannot describe or express in words.
Performing the rituals of Umrah was almost effortless, the cool weather was a major factor of course.
